...in haste, brought on by a busy day.

Dune:

Filigree Window takes place during the "Children of Dune" era, a Jessica pov, and the Jessica and Irulan interaction especially I found so very well done and poignant.

Doctor Who:

There is an Old School Episodes Love Meme , in which you can rave about any of the Old Who eps you've enjoyed, and share the squee.

New Who Companions meeting Old Who Companions is something that should happen more often, but that's why we have talented fellow fans. [livejournal.com profile] futuresoon drew Jack Harkness meeting Jamie McCrimmon. Behold! (And yeah, that's how it would go...)

Most people who'd be interested have probably read this already, but just in case they haven't: [livejournal.com profile] versaphile compiled a chronology of the Master, complete with score card (from which we learn it's a dead heat between the two Time Lords, Jo scores, and poor Nyssa is the true loser of the game).

Hardly Moving Yet is a great Ace portrait, capturing her, the relationship with the Doctor and the "feel" of her episodes wonderfully well.

Bwee, recs! *g* Dammit, every time you say something about Ace, I feel like a deer in the headlights because she's so far away, she's almost last on the list (that's the movie) I've got so much to get to before I can start with her...clearly, the person who said you can never have too much of a good thing was a filthy, filthy liar. :P

Thank you for the Dune rec. I love Irulan, madly, and it's wonderful to see people writing her as the teacher, scholar and mother with strength ---not a failed Bene Gesserit.

When reading the first three books, I was very disappointed of how little Herbert made of Irulan, because after reading Dune I had been very curious about her (with all the introduction quotes coming from her books, and her able to provide another pov to the saga). So when the tv version came along and basically used the set up and came up with a layered, interesting and well-played character, I was jubilant, and only regretted she didn't get more scenes. I'm always on the lookout for fanfic featuring her!

Oh, you know that in the far, far days when you'll have watched all the available stuff, you'll revise your opinion on that.*g* I admire your disciplinary approach anyway, as I am more like the Doctor, wildly gallivanting between different periods in my watching and rewatching.*g*
