Re DT in something hardcore serious: check out Recovery, but be prepared to be emotionally gutted. His character suffers an accident right at the start and once he gets out of the coma he's brain damaged, and his wife is faced with the possibility that the man she loved might be irrevocably gone, because he can't really remember her anymore, and his personality is altered. Great, great performances by Sarah Parish and David Tennant. (They're also paired up in Blackpool, and SP was the Empress of the Raccnoss, which led her to joke she expects to play in her dotage with DT as well.)
