Halloween reading
Oct. 31st, 2003 05:12 pmYours truly, making money in strange places, is again confined to the computer of a business center in a hotel. Nothing to do with the health of the kidnapped laptop, though. It works just fine, only the hotel room doesn't have analog connections. Ah well.
I love the lifejournal world. Look at my new icon for a reason why. That was fast and great work by
hobsonphile, wasn't it?

monkeycrackmary wrote a wonderful Halloween story. A triple crossover - Ultraviolet, Buffy and Pirates of the Caribean. Now crossovers are tricky to do as a rule. Crossovers between three canons that are not that easily to reconcile? Even more difficult. I'm in awe. As someone who loves the character of Dawn very much (my second favourite BTVS character - my favourite would be Buffy herself), I'm also thrilled to find her as a main character and well-characterized. The story, complete with short and witty introduction to the three fandoms, is located here:

Glad you liked both...
Date: 2003-10-31 11:24 pm (UTC)I think the problem with putting Buffy and Ultraviolet together is that there are a number of obvious inconsistencies (for example, Ultraviolet vampires can't use phone - except with a computer-generated voice - and can't be filmed). But with some imagination and talent, you can work around that.
