I remember becoming quite aware of this (in a good way) during S1 of Heroes, when Hiro and Peter found it so hard to kill/attack/generally be Buffy or Angel-like. It gave me a fresh perspective on the way I watched TV.
Re: Nathan's expression - hungry is a good way of putting it, it was in his eyes, I agree, but I also thought the acceptance of Matt's decision was unmistakable.
Yes--I think I was just unclear in my wording. What I meant was that the acceptance was..."OK, I won't go against you by force because I respect you, but I don't have to like it" if you see what I mean.
