Completely worn out, and also in Lower Saxonia, which is sort of connected. So, I just have two recs, one angsty, one funny:
Torchwood:
Rock Bottom, Going Up: Jack during his 20th century Torchwood years, administring TW policy to employees who want to leave. I have a soft spot for fanfic that focuses on the moral ambiguity of Jack-the-Torchwood-agent and manage to do this without either downplaying just how much ruthless this agency is or, in the other extreme, make both Jack and the TW crew into caricatures. This one offers a look at Alex from Fragments in an early stage as well as presenting ocs, and Jack himself is written in-depth. I really liked it.
Doctor Who:
The Further Adventures of Handy The Wonder Clone: I've been avoiding stories that deal with Blue!Ten mostly because the majority of them tends to be shippy and this particular pairing just isn't for me. This story, however, is a hilarious rendering of our newly born hero's attempt at blogging (and coping with his new state). As he battles Starbuck's, boredom, psychiatrists and the difficulties of getting the right hair gel, I was giggling helplessly all the way through. If you need a break from all the angst which is still believable in the ways of characterisation, go for it!
