Cheers, mates!
Dec. 25th, 2003 11:17 amHad a lovely Christmas Eve yesterday. (Which in Germany is the time of presents, songs and tales.) Before, we wandered around from church to church and admired the various presentations of the holy family and assorted shephards, angels and folk of Bethlehem. More often than not, they're hand carved, and someone made houses and caves out of dried tree bark and moss. It looks very pretty, and is different in every church. Bamberg being the seat of an archbishop, we have quite a lot of these.
Present-wise, I'm still swooning over my necklace (the pretty!) and curious about the books.
kathyh gave me the Pirates of the Caribbean DVD which I couldn't resist opening a day early, which means I had the pleasure of listening to the audio commentary by Keira Knightley and Jack Davenport. Those two are a riot together and give Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd a definite run for their money in the "most funny double act in audio commentaries" competition. "He's upstaging me again!" *g* In fact, after hearing the two of them banter, I have the shameful hope that in the sequel, they kill off Will and go with Elizabeth, Norrington and of course Jack as the leads...
Lastly: I only head a brief opportunity to look at the lj world but noticed
gehayi wrote more gorgeous answers to the "Appease the Heathen Gods" challenge, namely, a Discworld/PotC crossover, and a Sandman/PotC crossover. Go and admire.
Also, there's a wonderful interview with Elijah Wood here which someone kindly copied.
