First of all, my favourite ficathon of them all is back in town:
andraste has put up the post for Multiverse prompts! If you're not familiar with the Multiverse ficathon yet, it's for crossovers between space shows and/or movies or -books, and I had an absolute blast writing for it every year it's been running. Past efforts on the part of yours truly include letting Scorpius from Farscape encounter Obi-Wan Kenobi in a galaxy far, far away, having DS9's Garak trade quips with Babylon 5's Bester and using B5's Michael Garibaldi as an in-over-his-head noir detective who comes across a shady dame by the name of Ellen Tigh from BSG. As you can see by these samples, there is no combination so outrageous it can't be written. This year, one of the fandoms is the Marvel Universe (which does, after all, include aliens and space adventures), which gave me the excuse for asking for Abigail Brand with either the Doctor or the Torchwood gang.
likeadeuce,
resolute, this means if you want, say, Jean Grey exchanging views on going Dark Phoenix with Lyta Alexander or Ace commiserating about manipulative mentors with Scott Summers, you can ask for it, too, so go there!
(My one regret is that the Sarah Connor Chronicles & the entire Terminator franchise don't qualify because at no point does anyone leave the planet. Alas. But there are so many other shiny fandoms which do!)
Speaking of shiny fandoms, have two recs:
Star Trek: DS9: Misremembering the Alamo. Ezri wasn't bisexual before being joined with the Dax symbiont, and now she has to adjust.. Great take on the subject, and wonderful voices for everyone. I think Ezri's chat with Sisko while he's cooking is my favourite, but really, I love all the encounters, and Ezri figuring out how to be Dax in this regard, too.
Highlander:
Five Times Amanda Broke In To Leave Something: which captures Amanda's glorious Amanda-ness, her mixture of frivolity, affection and the way she relates to the various people in her life just wonderfully well. In conclusion, I love Amanda (and the rest of the HL gang) as strongly as ever.
