The world is still upside down
May. 31st, 2010 06:11 pmEverything still happens when I'm travelling. En route from Bamberg to Munich, I heard a) that our president (= head of state, not head of goverment, that's the chancellor) resigned over his Afghanistan quote and the general reaction to same. Am still trying to decide whether this is appropriate given the full implication of what he said or whether it's flouncing off in a crisis. And b) about the Israeli raid. I wonder whether Hennig Mankell, who is on board the flotilla, is reminded of Leon Uris' Exodus. It's not a good irony.
