Alias-related nostalgia made me browse through some of my favourite fanfictions of yesteryear. I've recommended them all before, but years ago, so some of you might not have come across them. In which case, enjoy! I promise the following stories are all excellent. With two Sydney-centric exceptions, they're also all focused on the First Gen Spies (aka Jack Bristow, Irina Derevko and Arvin Sloane), so Sark and Vaughn fans, you won't find anything here.

The exceptions:

(Don't Stop) Thinking About Tomorrow: my absolutely favourite post-s5 story, in which Sydney, courtesy of a Rambaldi device, travels back in time to the late 70s, meets a much younger Sloane and her parents and has to decide whether or not to change history. Great Sydney voice, and the younger versions of the Spyrents and Arvin S. ring perfectly true as well.

Doctor Who and the Rambaldi Enigma: more time-travel for Sydney, and a brilliant DW crossover, in which she gets to meet Milo Rambaldi, the (Third) Doctor and the Master. One for Aliasfans and Whovians alike, but even if you haven't watched a single episode of Doctor Who, you'll enjoy this adventure, as we're in Sydney's pov and the two Time Lords are new to her as well.

On to the First Gen Spies:

Irina pov: these are all by [personal profile] kangeiko, who writes my favourite Irina, not least because as opposed to many another writer, she's keenly aware of Irina as a Russian and uses that cultural background for her characterisation. And she explores Irina's relationships with her sisters and her daughters.

Snow: Irina and motherhood.

Revisionist History: Elena and Irina.

The tale of the dead princess: Irina, her two daughters and Katya. Haunting and painful in the right way.

This one is by [personal profile] andraste: An honour that I dream not of, Irina, Katya and an explanation for the photo we see in early s4.

Arvin Sloane and Jack Bristow:

Get me to the church in time : more [personal profile] andraste, and downright lighthearted for these two, with a few darker touches of foreshadowing, this one is set just before Jack marries "Laura".

Seasons of Change: by [personal profile] nomadicwriter, covering the changing relationship between the two men through the decades. Great Jack pov.

Hourglass: that scene in the episode of that name, from Sloane's pov, by [personal profile] kangeiko.

Un/Faithful: a morning after, by [profile] yahtzee63. Just how they'd react.

Emily Sloane (did I mention Emily is my favourite recurring guest star?):

Five things Emily Sloane regrets: by [personal profile] kangeiko, who writes as great an Emily as she writes an Irina.

Appointed Hours: by [profile] vaznetti, Arvin after Emily's death.

Threesomes! Actual ones and/or just emotional ones:

Bound: Arvin Sloane, Jack Bristow and Irina Derevko through the years. Ends in the ominous two years between s2 and s3, and uses an idea the next one does as well; I love both variations.

Edge of Darkness: Sloane in those two years; Jack and Irina in absentia.

Before, during, after: this one is that rarity, a Jack/Emily/Arvin threesome set shortly after the Laura/Irina revelation, and the non-linearity as well as the different motivations for all three are deliciously complex.

Lastly, not a story but something everyone surely would want to read: Lilah Morgan from Angel and Irina Derevko play Cliff, Shag, Marry, here.
