Same here, but I suspect we were in the minority. My "do not want" was additionally fed back then by the rumour that the original plan had been to bring Kyle Reese back, and that the switch to Derek had been last minute, which would have supported the "nuclear family" idea. Mind you, that might just have been an internet rumor and not true, there was no reference to it on the audio commentaries.
