Bad Brückenau II
Jul. 9th, 2011 01:40 pmToday is our last day in Bad Brückenau (I've lost 5 kilos 500 g as of yesterday, which feels rather nice), so here are some more pictures from our hikings. Those were easily the least painful dieting weeks I've spent, because of all the distraction, but I must confess I look forward to not being used as a pin cushion during accupuncture anymore, and returning to my own apartment (minus a few more days with the APs to help my mother with all the washing etc. that ensues when one returns from the holidays). Also, two more fanfic recs:
X-Men:
Charm Offensive: because one needs a break from all the angst now and then, it's not a fandom before it produces crack fic, and I'm still giggling at the thought of it. Post-XMFC, in which Erik thinks Charles uses rather unfair means to lure Brotherhood members back.
Like a hook into an eye: this, otoh, is a serious and no less enjoyable look at Charles, Raven and Erik, and that thing called love.
Now, on to the photos!
Taken because of all the mushrooms:

The so called long-stones. I qualify because I've seen larger, but anyway, here they are:

We didn't always have nice weather, which made for dramatic looks as of this tower in Wernaz:

Taken because I was amused at the cows settling down beneath the Autobahn:

By far the most tiring but also very rewarding hiking was climbing up the Dreistelzberg. Great views on the way already:

By the time we had to make our way through a narrow path in the woods to the tower at the top, though, we were wet as rags. Up there:

If you climb up that tower, this is what you see of the Rhön in various directions:

And now some more buildings. Here's a bit from the Staatsbad:

In the town center of Bad Brückenau (I love the boat behind the statue):

And yesterday's sunset with a very visible moon:

Farewell, Bad Brückenau!
