I can't speak for anyone else. The most quoted reason why people say they keep watching are the one liners delivered by Maggie Smith. I'd say for me, it's simply an addictive soap and I do like the majority of the characters, so there's that. But good lord, does it make yearn one for an AU where revolution happens in Britain after WWI!
