With Juan's torturing of the relatively innocent Sforza kid and his affliction with syphilis, it feels a bit as though he's getting all of the *seriously* icky bits of Cesare's story. Not that this Cesare is a good guy, precisely, but he's not diseased and dishonorably killing children yet.
As for Caterina, surely everyone informed was waiting for the famous line from the outset of the episode. That only made it better with the payoff, for me.
