Who knows how long lj will work this time. I'm off to the Munich film festival in a moment (today's movies for which I have tickets: Fogs of War and Bloom), and had a minor nightmare involving my brand new printer being broken already. (Not my fault, the repair guy who had to take the thing said, but that's not helping.)

On the bright side, I had a Jossverse story idea for the first time in quite a while, space station inhabitants having hijacked me for months now. It's probably due to having reread Sandman and writing the B5/Sandman crossover and basically involves post-Finale Connor meeting the Furies and Lyta Hall. The Mother/Maiden/Crone triad in Connor's case would take the shape of Cordy, the girl he helped her sacrifice, and Jasmine. (Why not the Mother as Darla? Because this is Connor dealing with his guilt.) Also, Lyta, she who lost (and killed for) her own son, will have a connection to Darla...

I'm not sure when I'll be able to write this, but oh, I want to.

Sorry to hear about the printer. You're not having much luck with computer related items at the moment are you.

The story idea sounds great, but as I'm in partial B5 mode at the moment I thought for a moment you meant B5's Lyta and couldn't work out when she had a son. Must clear foggy brain...and read more Sandman.

No, I don't. And btw, I always wondered whether JMS named B5 Lyta for Sandman Lyta, for reasons you'll understand once you've finished the saga. So yes, you must read more.*g*

Oh, and also, if you're looking for screencaps for B5 icons, [livejournal.com profile] hobsonphile has a link to a screencap site or two over at Enemies and Allies which in turn is linked at her lj.

Thanks. I'll pop on over and have a look as I'm definitely feeling the need for a B5 icon.

JMS seems to be a Gaiman fan, or is Gaiman a JMS fan, so I wouldn't be surprised if the name isn't a coincidence. I've got the next two volumes waiting to be read so it won't be long before I read some more.

They're in a mutual admiration society, I'd say.*g* (In the foreword to Gaiman's B5 script, JMS tells a hilarious tale of pestering NG for years and years to write one down to camping in his garden.)

Also, get thee to thy Sandman volumes and read them at once.

Beautiful Frodo icon!

I will when I've finished the book I'm reading at the moment, which for something "unputdownable" has proved rather heavy going in parts.

Beautiful Frodo icon!

Thanks. I had to do something when LJ wasn't working *g*. I was going to use the quote for Drusilla but Frodo jumped and down and demanded it was his, so considering what he'd been through I relented and gave it to him.

Which book would this be?

The Little Friend by Donna Tartt. I'm getting along with it fine now but there was a bit in the middle that was rather gruelling reading for someone like me who's not overfond of snakes. If you've read it you'll know what I mean *g*.

Oh, I've read it, and I know what you mean. I found it very atmospheric but ultimately going nowhere, and indeed dragging in parts.
