You know what I gave my Aged Parents for Christmas? Tickets for tonight's Bruce Springsteen concert in Munich. On the reasonable assumption at a concert at the end of May would have, if not nice weather, than somewhat warm weather.

It's rainining cats and dogs, and 5° Centigrade. The APs and self shall try to brave the Olympiastadion nonetheless for Mr. Springsteen, but if it turns out our part of the seats doesn't fall among the ones that are covered, we're out of there.

Meanwhile, links:

Once upon a time:

Twenty-Eight Years: the one repeating day for Cora and Killian Jones, aka Hook. Beautifully written and intense.

Babylon 5:

At a convention, JMS doesn't only share some hilarious Londo and G'Kar related anecdotes (of course the rest of the cast and himself arranged to be around when their intense scenes were filmed!) but also the deeply moving story of why Michael O'Hare really left, necessitating Sinclair being written out. It's not anything that was speculated before and makes me respect the actor all the more.

I hope you and the APs will have a great concert experience, nonetheless! Cavendish and I saw Springstreen and band a couple of years ago at the LTU arena in Düsseldorf. Fantastic performance. :)

Also, lots of thanks for the JMS link.

my boss will also be at that springsteen concert! (this is not so much of a wacky coincidence as it might seem given that she travels around the world to go to them).

hope it's not too wet.

The story about O'Hare is heartbreaking. Sinclair was and always will be my favourite, and O'Hare's death his me harder than any other fannish death has, and now hearing about what he went though is just...

It's so sad that it had to be hidden, because of the way we treat that kind of illness.

The weather this May sucks. I read somewhere that it's already the wettest May since records began here, and it's not even over. :/

Mutant intervention would be nice. I'm sure Storm would not let this go on for this long. Not even the wildlife can cope. This morning in the local fluff news was a story about an eagle owl who apparently fell from the sky because its feathers had become too went from the constant rain during the night and then a walker found it in the morning, to dazed and wet to fly. Since it had no injuries besides having become too wet, the animal rescue dried it out with a hairdryer and released it. That news was accompanied by a picture of a really pathetic looking wet eagle owl.

Thank you for posting the link about Michael O'Hare.

in an odd sort of way, I'm glad that was the reason, because the story I'd heard was that the network didn't want him - and I really liked him as an actor.

I'm glad that his departure wasn't a reflection of his acting skills, though the actual reason is tragic.

I just checked the recap page from the faithful folks at Backstreets, where the reporter states, "I, at least, have never witnessed or read about any outdoor show where the band and audience had to cope with such extreme weather conditions." So you and the AP's may have witnessed a more historic occasion than you bargained for, but at least it's a good story? (I'm also giggling at "Who'll Stop the Rain?" as the opener :))

I was lumping that under "the way we treat this kind of illness."

Though the damage to his reputation from the ensuing rumours, the illness itself or a combination of both killed his acting career in any case.

I do hope that he found peace and happiness.
