Holy cow, it's 900 pages long and it's a volume one! Now I want to read it, of course - without necessarily being a huge Beatles fan, (I'm particularly not a Lennon and/or McCartney fan, so something that goes out if it's way to be balanced about the four of them sounds better to me as well.) It just seems like one of those great places where everything gets fractal - a whole vast historiography, complete with controversies, myths, rivalries, heroes and villains. Awesome. Is there a history of Beatles histories out there?
