I can see that about Maggie Walsh; one of the reasons why I had her in my "Five Things..." for Warren was that they're related, so to speak, via horror archetypes, though by not by identical ones.
Re: Victor Frankenstein, he's absolutely insufferable, but then again, there is the framing narration via Walton's letters, and Walton definitely admires him; I think if it was just Victor and the Creature narrating, I'd be more sure his awfulness was intentional.
