...starting with lovers of myths Greek and Roman: "Black Ships" by [livejournal.com profile] artaxastra is a stunning tale set after the Trojan war. Which I hope she'll get published one day.

Maybe some of us couldn't go to Burbank, unlike certain individuals, but we got fanfic instead. Centauriphiles, friends, ljfolk, lend me your ear: [livejournal.com profile] andrastewhite has written another witty, sad and hot Londo/G'Kar story. I love my middle-aged plumb aliens, yes I do.

Of course, friendship is worth squeeing over just as much as any other 'ship. The first friendship essay over at [livejournal.com profile] otf_manifesto has appeared, and it's dealing with Vila and Avon, of Blake's 7 fame. Highly recommended (both the essay and B7, with its glories of sarcastic dialogue and dark plots and not so special effects that make Dr. Who look expensive - but who cares?).

beguiling
You attract, allure, and beguile.

You are a pure Siren, and your song, or whatever
you use to allure, it works! You have a willing
string of followers and devotees, and you
rejoice in being adored!

Perhaps you are a little lonely, because the world
misunderstands you! Not evil, not controlling,
but simply loving to be wanted and admired, you
are a vision of loveliness.
