In Germany, we vote on Sunday in the European elections, but Britain votes today. I'm hoping against the odds for something more than yet more of bloody Farage, and thus I give you the European Anthem, courtesy of Beethoven, as presented on a sunny day in Nuremberg:

I am in the Loire area, admiring castles. We arrived today and will stay for a week before moving to Brittany. The next few days Amboise will be headquarters, so to speak.

Despite the fact that he will inevitably hog the headlines (because the media just can't stop giving oxygen to demagogues), strongly anti-Brexit parties have out-polled strongly Brexit parties in the UK. So that's some small comfort.
