Galactica renewed!
Feb. 10th, 2005 06:13 amThere is no better soothing for waking up with a headache than discovering good news. Sci-Fi has renewed Battlestar Galactica for a second season (and the ratings continue to be spectacularily good). Call me a still groggy but very happy fangirl. And so far, I've managed to stay spoiler free for episodes 9-13, though it's hard. *casts accusing look at

vaznetti has some intriguing thoughts and questions about the Civilians on the show, and what their lives must be like. Have a look.

kernezelda's birthday, I hear. May it be a happy one! In the grand tradition of hobbits handing out presents to others on their birthday, Kerne apparently has caused several good writers to delight the fandom at large with fics about John and icecream. So far, I like this one best. You know me; while other people go for John/Aeryn, John/Chiana and John/Scorpius, I'm John/Rygel all the way...

Date: 2005-02-10 05:22 am (UTC)Some BSG trivia: The show (Mini-series and all) was shot in Vancouver. Hopefully the next season will be shot here too, so there may be opportunity for cast sightings..
The guy who plays Helo, Tahmoh Penikett, was born in the Yukon, in Whitehorse. His father was the Yukon's premier and member of the Legislature for 18 years. His mother is part of the Dene nation, and was born in a tent in Snag, near the Alaska border where the coldest temperature on earth (-63 degrees C) was recorded. Tahmoh moved to Vancouver and began his acting career at the Lyric School of Acting. (trivia gleaned from today's newspaper, which has a biggish column about Battlestar Galactica in it).
