So interesting. Season 1 is my least favorite -- I felt like it hadn't hit its stride.

It's getting there and I'm not keen on several of the early eps, but at the same time, s1 has a lot I love, and it's ensemble-tastic throughout, with all the characters allowed an inner life that exists not just in regards to Crichton. I remember missing that in s4. I might change my mind upon rewatch! We shall see.

Aww I love S1 too! It kind of breaks my heart everyone disses it, and yeah it's got really dire stuff like I E.T. and Jeremiah Crichton and so on, but I love Reluctant Allies coming together and how we slowly learn about their backgrounds and Crais! Moya! Talyn! Pilot! It even has some of my v favourite eps of the whole series, TGIF Again and DNA Mad Scientist and Through the Looking Glass and Human Reaction and Nerve ("MY side, YOUR side!"). And I do think S1 and S2 were the best for the whole ensemble, before SEASON OF DEATH and a lot of the emotional energy of the show going into John and Aeryn's relationship. Which I didn't mind, but it was just way too angsty and will-they-won't-they for my taste.
