This is definitely not a good fannish week in terms of streaming services, or lack of same. First Amazon Prime keeps the third Doctor Who episode from me (but confusingly not the special bonus „behind the scenes“ stuff), and then, this morning, I find out that as an overseas fan, I won‘t be able to watch the new season of Star Trek: Discovery because it seems Paramount and Netflix had a fallout. Even worse, the previous three seasons will be gone from Netflix, too. I guess it‘s buying DVD time again, since I don‘t want to be without DISCO, but that solves only part of my problem. Boo, hiss.

Yep, already happened, and without any kind of warning. So much for that S3 rewatch I was in the middle of. The wonderful world of streaming services! /s No Disco for me anytime soon then.

I'm so annoyed! I really enjoyed just being able to start up Netflix and watch Star Trek at the same time as the US (Discovery was the first time ever that I've been able to do that) and now we can't even access it legally because the stupid Paramount channel doesn't exist here.

I'm just glad that we finished our DS9 rewatch before these decisions were made. Currently we are rewatching TNG, mostly because in times like these there is something incredibly comforting about that show. (Good night stories with Jean-Luc that sing of a better, more humanistic and rational world ;-))Thankfully we own the complete remastered Blu-ray set and are therefore independent from Netflix.

And I was so looking forward to the next season of Disco...

Lucky you. I only have TNG videos (!) to fall back on, and not complete seasons of same. This whole development of a thousand splittering streaming services speaks of a Ferengi like attitude, alas…

Subscribing to gazillion streaming services is even more expensive. I already subscribe to two, and I really don‘t want to do more….

Yeah, I read one Disco actor apologized for that and wish the actors and fans could have been forewarned.

I completely understand not wanting monopolies in any 1 business area but it's annoying you can't any longer find most of your favorite shows in one or two services.
