Bonn, Saturday
May. 7th, 2005 10:13 pmAnd the late night report, short version:
First panel today, Dominic Keating and Jolene Blalock: Dominic Keating very funny, bawdy humour, Jolene Blalock still a sweetie. When asked for alternate profession of choice, says "librarian", and asked for favourite authors, names Tolstoy and C.S. Lewis.
Andrew Robinson: very intense, most serious of all the panelists, very political, too. Talks about directing and acting with a detailed passion, just directed Mother Courage by Brecht (considers it one of the best anti-war plays ever. For
ide_cyan: he reinacted his favourite scene from Hellraiser for us.
Autograph line: was long. Poor actors signed 1500 autographs today and aren't done yet. Got mine.
Robert O'Reilly & J.G. Hertzler: two men show. Did Klingon rap for us. Robert O'Reilly, when asked which show he prefered, TNG or DS9, said TNG from a working pov, as the only show where the regulars really were like a family (not just part of studio propaganda) and hung out with each other and the guest stars between takes, trailer doors always open etc, whereas DS9 was a working environment for the actors, i.e. they did their job and went home and didn't have much interaction aside from that.
Costume Contest: Hilarious. Gay Jedi show won. Also Star Wars hippos, an extra award. May definitely month of SW.
Leonard Nimoy panel: only saw 15 minutes, as went to Stephen Furst afterwards (they scheduled poor S.F. half an hour after the Nimoy panel started). L.N. calm and with a great delivery, immediately started with the Shatner anecdotes.
Stephen Furst: only 20 people there at first, due to above mentioned circumstance. Fangirled him for
hobsonphile. Asked more questions than anyone else, felt not guilty for monopolizing even later when there were about 100 people. Told him adored performance in drunken Vir after Cartagia'd death scene and got him to tell tale of fake JMS script slashing Londo and G'Kar.
Off to bed now; one more day to go!

Date: 2005-05-07 09:55 pm (UTC)What daft scheduling, but good for you if you got to ask lots of questions. Jolene Blalock and Dominic Keating sound like fun - they almost make me wish I'd liked Enterprise better and not give up after Season 1. Have fun tomorrow.

Date: 2005-05-08 08:31 am (UTC)To cut a long story short: If you want to have them, I would be happy to to promote a show which, imho, could have been one of the best Trek shows ever ;-)). Kathy: I would need your RL address for sending the episodes if you are interested :-)
