Sandman fanfic

Sandman fanfiction is rare. Good Sandman fanfiction is even more of a pleasant surprise. Ellen Fremedon wrote a fantastic, sensitive story, set directly after "Brief Lives", about Hob Gadling and Dream, loss and friendship, and the deeds and relationships which haunt you. She captures the lyrical tone of the Sandman series, and her characterization of Dream, Hob, Lucien and Matthew is spot on. I'm so glad she managed to get this tale away from Lucien's library of unwritten stories. Go and admire at:

If you've not seen it already, I wrote a piece of Sandman fanfic called Peachy Keen (http://www.imjustsayin.net/silverlake/selena-peachykeen.html), which was a Buffy crossover. Normally I don't blow my own trumpet but as it was originally released to riotous apathy and as I slogged my little guts out over it at the time, I think I'm entitled to pimp it a little.

Neat AU. Peachy keen, in two words. Is the Eremite your invention or someone I somehow missed in canon?

The Eremite was the 'villain' of the first Death mini-series Time of your Life. Like a lot of Neil villains he was actually kind of understandable, just hideously mean and ruthless in his objective (which I suspect was to ill Death - he was left deliberately vague, just wanting to die for reasons unrecorded)
