Veronica Mars 2.03
Oct. 17th, 2005 09:34 pmTomorrow I'm arriving at Frankfurt for the Book Fair, which reminds me:
monanotlisa,
hmpf, ich habe eine zweite Dauerkarte für die ganze Woche. Falls einer von Euch beiden also vorbei schauen will, steht sie zur Verfügung.
Saw Veronica Mars episode 2.03 and liked it very much indeed. I think I finally found a Logan 'ship I can get behind: Duncan/Logan OTP! Okay, all joking aside, that fight and the aftermath was the highlight of the episode. Good that the writers remembered these two were best friends and have issues way beyond Veronica. As Logan's usuall MO when dealing with those is provoking and Duncan's is repressing (see also: his behaviour towards Veronica for most of season 1 when he thought she was his sister), I personally wouldn't want to date either of them, but their interaction is great to watch.
Meanwhile, I'm also rooting for Veronica/Lamb. Talk about snark. Veronica/Logan, nothing. And poor old Keith would totally die.
And to round off the 'ships, as mentioned before I recognize a set-up when I see it, and thus I know that Veronica/Duncan is doomed, but I'd like to point out that we've seen Veronica tell Duncan about her angst and guilt issues in two of three episodes so far, whereas she keeps them a secret from Dad. Or even old confidant Wallace. No, Duncan might not be a titan in the sack or Mr. Outacting Emotion, but when not thinking she's his sister he's clearly there if she needs him, and she feels comfortable enough with him to tell him all of this.
I hear there has been more indignation about Jackie disliking P&P than there was about her dating a guy other than Wallace. Great Maker, as Londo would see. All due respect to Ms. Austen, but it happens.
Progress on the mystery front: well, Aaron is an obvious suspect for a hit on Veronica, which makes me believe there must a twist here. Also, nice touch that Kendall and her husband were in frauding cahoots, and that Veronica's teacher was established as a character so we'd know the human consequences of such a fraud - always difficult to get across otherwise.

Date: 2005-10-17 07:43 pm (UTC)Joking? And for the record, I think that preferring the Colin Firth P&P to the novel is much worse than hating the novel overall. Though I did like the "chase scene" references *g*. And I love Veronica getting so sisterly- protective of Wallace. And I want Kendall/Veronica because I'm like that.

Date: 2005-10-17 11:32 pm (UTC)Haven't actually gotten to watch VM; had two weeks' worth of Alias since the file labelled 1x02 was 1x01 last week -- and loved it quite a bit; must jot down my thoughts tomorrow!
