1.) Dr. Who: Where might a body ahem The Christmas Invasion? My usual source is sadly otherwise occupied. And I so want to see Ten in action.

2.) Babylon 5: kangeiko has written a fantastic Centauri story. From a Brakiri pov, no less. ‘Tis good to be a fan these days.

3.) Alias and roleplaying: On the other hand, there are sneaky fellow fen like karabair working their evil wiles on you. She made me do this. Now, while I wait for the muse to be accepted – there is this challenge demanding a soundtrack for the life of one’s character. Does anyone have any suggestions for an Arvin Sloane soundtrack? A song for Emily, Jack, Sydney and Nadia each would be essential, and I think one for Irina should be there as well (from Sloane’s pov, remember, not from Jack’s). Rambaldi definitely will be represented by something from Gounoud’s Faust. *g*

4.) Expect a larger post about Angel (the character, not the show) one of these days. Recent discussions have inspired me.

5.) I'm green with envy that the Americans among you will get to see new BSG episodes starting with this Friday, but hope that my previous source will be generous again, which would mean so will I, with a few days in between.

Have Christmas Invasion as a perfectly fine *.avi, all complete with opening and end credits. Willing to ship within the next two hours as I was planning a little walk to the post office anyway.

Also, there is a six-minute "preview" to The Christmas Invasion that aired on a charity special, that actually shows the transformation of Eccleston to Tennant. I was surprised to see that this footage was not in the actual episode. If you haven't seen it and care enough, I could probably get a copy of the file to you.

I'm glad to see you joining, and loved the first Sloane entries (naturally, he and Jack would both be Lawrence fans).

The soundtrack challenge was fun but HARD and I say that as someone who makes fan mixes a lot. Nothing comes to mind for Sloane, but I'll let you know if I think of it. I suppose he grew up in the sixties and would have experienced all the counterculture music, though what he would have thought of it I can't say . . .

The Doors work for Sloane --

now, if it was Irina/Jack, I would say "Brilliant Disguise," just to be a tad predictable. I could probably come up with 70s-era Bruce that would fit, but I'm not sure that's the kind of thing Arvin would like. Now, Leonard Cohen strikes me as possibly Sloane-ish, if you know his work; and I can see Sloane as a Dylan fan too.

I was just inspired, which shows my mental line to Sloane's brain works: of course, he would delegate this job to Marshall. So I have to come up with songs MARSHALL thinks describe Sloane's life. Which should not only be easier but also geekish fun! (You just know Marshall would include at least one one Bond film title song, though he might stop short of Gooooldfingaaaah...)

No problem. Give me till next week (I have them in Munich, not here), and I'll send them to you. However, one question before hand: have you seen the miniseries that precedes the actual show? That one is available on DVD in Germany, and really should be seen first, because it's the foundation for everything.

To me the all-time Jack-and-Sloane song, the one where vengeance is about to be delivered but you can't tell if the singer is working with or against his audience, is Leonard Cohen's "First We Take Manhattan." (REM does a good cover version, too.)
