Okay, firstly, to get it out of the way, the elections: Hugs to [livejournal.com profile] artaxastra, [livejournal.com profile] penknife, [livejournal.com profile] sabine101 and everyone else who tried so hard to save both the US and the world from four more Bush years. Looks like we're stuck with him for a while longer, but much as Bush personally and his administration in general repell me, on every moral and ideological level, I don't think the damage will be irreversible. America is bigger than that. So is the rest of the world. Also? At least the lethargy is gone, and people really voted in masses this time. They acted as citizens. (Going for the difference between citoyen and bourgois here.) Apathy is the worst of all options, and that didn't happen.

End of political comment. Now, as biting my finger nails about an election in another country was somewhat unproductive, and as I couldn't concentrate properly on my RL task, either, my brain came with something of the fannish kind. [livejournal.com profile] bloodraven77's request in the Londothon had been Londo/Cartagia, which [livejournal.com profile] hobsonphile is going to write. H. being very busy right now, my muse, who is in a twisted mood, told me I could do something with the idea as well. Which I did.

I was going to wait for the beta, but I'll be on the road for the rest of the week, and in Paris next week, with no idea about my internet access, so, here is the unbeta'd version ahead of time:
