Easter Wells of 2026
Apr. 4th, 2026 06:38 pmMind you, the non-fannish world feels like one long Good Friday for humanity these days, but still: time to share the annual joy of our Franconian Easter Wells. (And bridges.)

Litzendorf makes always for a good start for the combination of well and picturesque church.

Whereas this well is so attractive because of the witty eggs.

Like these, though they're only funny if you speak German (they offer a dictionary of Franconian dialect words vs standard German).

My Agend Parent adores tihe Tiefenpölz well beyond all others, not just because it's pretty but because they offer eatable eggs as well.

The general arrangement remains, but this year they added some saints to their usual eggs.

Then we visited the source of the river Aufseß.

And the bridge of Drosendorf.

I also like the well-church combination of Hollfeld:

And the AP who is much into mill wheels loves these two hares who will insist not to be called bunnies:

The well at Beringersmühle picks up a different theme each year. This year, they encourage blood, bone mark and organ donations:

Obertraubach not only offers a pretty well but pretty goats:

My own personal fave is the Easter Well of Kleingesee, which also picks a different theme for their arrangement each year. They celebrate their 40th anniversary this year and did so via paying homage to some of their most stunning arrangements, like "Fairy Tales", "The Football/Soccer World Cup" and "Forest" (complete with ant hill eggs):

The largest Easter Well remains Bieberach. For Bieberach, it wasn't even overcrowded this year, mostly because everyone thinks twice and thrice about their petrol for obvious reasons.

On to Ebermannsstadt:

Ebermannsstadt has a second Easter Well celebrating its Rokoko composer:

And finally, reliably beautiful: Heiligenstadt! Wishing everyone a hopefully good couple of holidays:

Date: 2026-04-04 05:49 pm (UTC)Also: Happy 20th Anniversary for the Easter Wells Pic Spam? I got curious and clicked on the tag - it looks like 2006 was the first of these. I actually forgot it would be happening this weekend, so seeing your post was a lovely surprise. Goats! :D Love the Egg Dictionary and especially the Egg Anthill, very cool. Wonderful pic spam, as always.
