It's a funny old life in the TARDIS...
Jun. 26th, 2010 09:23 amAh, pre-Doctor Who-finale jitters! One of the more pleasant torments of fandom. Followed by the less pleasant one that then there shall be no more new episodes for many a month. Though with the Whoverse, this is moderated because my beloved Sarah Jane Adventures are coming back, I so look forward to seeing Sarah Jane, Rani, Clyde and Luke again, and of course the guest star and the other guest star in the two parter with the title that shows RTD hasn't lost his zest for messing with the fans. :) Seriously, though, it's nice to have something to look forward to beyond this evening that will be there sooner than christmas.
Of course, there's also always fanfiction. Cases in point:
Aftershock, post-The Unicorn and the Wasp for Donna and the Doctor, a vignette that captures their dynamic beautifully. You know, I love many a companion(s) and Doctor combination, truly I do. But in New Who terms, I just love Donna and Ten that tiny degree more that makes them my favourite combo. (Old Who is probably Seven and Ace for actual Team TARDISness, and the Three years for ensembleness, which is something different.)
One more fanfic rec, this one not for DW but for that other show-for-children-promoted-by-the-BBC (tm Stephen Fry):
Merlin:
Working (Far Longer Than) 9 to 5 is a brief but great look at Gwen and manages to capture what endears this particular version of the Guinevere and Arthur relationship to me at the same time.
