Some photos from my recent Amsterdam trip:





In case you were wondering, I was told the reason for the abundance of house boats was that in the past, the living situation in Amsterdam was pretty bad and very expensive, hence the move on the water.











In other news, am I working on the ficathon stories I should write? No, I'm not, and not entirely due to the travel situation. Instead, I'm writing Bad Wrong stuff with eirena. (No, not the popular brand, i.e. Jack/Nadia. The other one. Though I do have an idea for a longer Nadia story as well.) And rewatching season 4 of Alias. This is not entirely unconnected.

I might be able to whip up a drabble for your birthday *g*. The longer Nadia story - which is supposed to cover the time between her leaving with Sloane at the end of s3 to the glass table of doom in s5 - will have to wait, though. Too much obligations already!

*claps gleefully* I think I have pictures of those same two houseboats from the last time I was in Amsterdam! My older sister lives in Bergen an Zee, so I've gotten to spend a little time there.

The houseboats always look like such a fun way to live, a la Duncan's barge in Highlander. The concept of a boat with a fireplace always tickles me for some reason. Thanks for sharing pics!
