Because RL business makes meme posts easier.*g* I think I did this the last time it was around, but am not 100% sure. In any case:
Name a character from one of my fandoms, and I will tell you my top 3 moments or scenes (or at least 3 of my favorites) of them.
Possible fandoms: Alias, Angel, Buffy, Firefly, Farscape, Babylon 5, new Battlestar Galactica, X-Men movieverse, X-men comicverse if limited to Astonishing X-Men (I read some of Claremont's - God Loves, Man Kills and the Dark Phoenix Saga, mostly - and most of the Morrison run, plus invidual issues by other writers, but not repeatedly), Star Trek: TNG, DS9 and sure, TOS, Star Wars, Dr. Who (old and new, but I'm still catching up with several of the Doctors and probably could only name examples from Seven's and Three's run without rewatching first), Dexter, Sandman.
ETA: and Highlander, of course! (The series, not the movies past the first one).

Date: 2007-01-17 05:56 pm (UTC)Well: can't beat the Alice in Wonderland, second edition scene with Sydney, for starters. Visiting Nadia on her sickbed (not the comatose one!) with some sleight of hand tricks is also beloved by me. And lastly, my favourite moment at the most awkward family dinner ever:
"So, Arvin, what do you think?..... Mr. Sloane."

Date: 2007-01-17 06:15 pm (UTC)1) Hugging Jack Bristow. One of the most priceless scenes ever.
2) Spy!Will doing an Australian accent (or was that an American one? Can't tell!) in Vienna, having obvious fun at hamming it up as a vulgar hotel guest.
3) Saying farewell to Sydney at the end of the same episode, and the tender, gorgeous smiles they exchange. Which is also one of these scenes where the character don't say "I love you" out loud but it's what they think.

Date: 2007-01-17 07:07 pm (UTC)ad 2) Remnants is, to this day, my favourite S3 episode. "Hourglass" had the best Jack&Arvin, it's true, and a few other eps stand out, but Will as the undercover agent...priceless.
ad 3) Yes. Just, yes.
Incidentally, I took the Porn Battle Prompts and wrote a Sydney/Will piece. & :-) Must post it one of these days.

Date: 2007-01-17 06:47 pm (UTC)But how to pick?
Okay. Just randomly, because I could easily choose thrice as many...
Connor and Angel, sparring in the alley. That laughter. Camera pulls back to show us Holtz watching. And Connor is going to feel so guilty about it... breaks my heart every time.
"You're my true father." Aka the true messed up ness of Connor at this point, summed up in the little scene with Angelus, and the walk towards the cage following it. Also? Bruised Vinnie looks incredibly beautiful in this scene.
"You drop by for coffee and the world's not ending? Please." Connor shows up at W&H to help Angel. Most optimistic and touching moment in a touching and pessimistic finale. Awwwwwwwww.

Date: 2007-01-17 06:52 pm (UTC)1) Stark comforting Crichton in the cell, after the torture, with his voice sounding suddenly not crazy at all but beautiful, and we see the compassion and the complexity of the character.
2) Sikozu!Stark from Bizarro Dimension sees Scorpius and Crichton kill Aeryn!Chiana just so they can find out the Katratzi business and goes from horror and grief to being there for her, crossing her over. To be honest, I have an incredibly soft spot for AU Stark and she/he might be my favourite version.
3) Stark takes his leave of Crichton in Peacekeeper Wars and shows him and us his face is healed - or rather, has started to heal. After all that happened before (to Stark, and done by John & the others this time), it's a superb moment of grace.

Date: 2007-01-17 07:24 pm (UTC)Londo Mollari, Babylon 5.

Date: 2007-01-17 07:55 pm (UTC)Londo is similarly tough to limit down to three, so, randomly, and with the caveat I could easily name thrice as many:
"But in purple, I look stunning!" Drunk Londo passing out in the first season isn't just a funny scene, it's also a tragic one in hindsight, given the way it is used in Londo's flashback in "Fall of Centauri Prime", as the symbol of the joie de vivre which is then forever taken away.
"And for that, I still envy you." The scene with Vir in The Long Night. Stephen Furst's best scene on the show, imo, and Peter Jurasik kills me as well, as Londo finds Vir drunk and horrified about having killed Cartagia, first tries to distract him, and then comes up with that speech that epitomizes their relationship and what he feels about Vir.
The Best Scene Ever, aka Londo coming to G'Kar in his last moments of freedom to say farewell as long as he can. It's so them, the tragedy and yet the humour as well and utterly beautiful. And then the final exchange, G'Kar's "my people can never forgive your people... you understand that, don't you?... but I can forgive you", and Londo's expression.

Date: 2007-01-17 08:24 pm (UTC)1) The one and only time she ever shuts up Kira in a way that leaves Kira feeling in the wrong: when she asks whether Kira thinks the Resistance were the only ones who fought the Cardassians, and mentions she was in a camp.
2) Praying to the Prophets while foiling their will (and saving Jake Sisko). That's Winn, in her frustration and longing regarding her religion.
3) It's a perfect tie between a) kicking Dukat out when he's blind, smiling sweetly and saying "my people are very compassionate" and b) kissing Dukat and letting loose her hair while simultanously planning to poison him. I do adore the pairing, and both scenes are neat illustrations why.

Date: 2007-01-17 09:07 pm (UTC)1) "I shaved extra close in anticipation of getting smacked by you." Zarek/Roslin confrontation/rivalry/sparkage for the win!
2) After Lee says his "because you know what, Tom? You were right" and Zarek agrees to his compromise, and Lee puts the gun away and leaves, the way he clutches at the wire, with tears in his eyes. Because he gets to live, and that is more difficult than going out with a big gesture, and yet, and yet.
3) "Call me Tom". Will never stop being enjoyable. The smugness, the irony directed at both of them, himself as well as Laura (and Lee) - that's Zarek.

Date: 2007-01-18 06:40 am (UTC)1) "I can't be the only person having trouble to take you seriously, can I?" Aka the point at season 1 when I realised I wasn't just intrigued by the seasons's main villain, but liked him. A LOT. (When he's getting tortured by McKenas Cole and comes back with that question. Though it's really the entire sequence, ending with the exchange with Jack along the lines of (paraphrasing): Jack: Arvin, we're about to get blown up
Sloane: I know. Ah well, life sucks.
Jack: Sydney is still in the building.
Sloane: In that case, cut off my finger so you can
deactivate the device.
Jack: *hesitates* (!!!!!!!)
Sloane: What are you waiting for?
2) Emily shows him she's wired, that the CIA has been listening all the time, and Sloane swallows, then asks her to come with him a final time. Ron and Amy kill me every time I watch that, and it's just so sad and beautiful and touching and sums up the relationship.
3) Getting Sydney to dance with him in "Prelude". I was going to list another scene with Jack here, but the relationship with Sydney deserves its own, and I just love that one. It just about sums up everything he feels for her and is him at his manipulative, knowing perfectly well what she feels best.

Date: 2007-01-18 06:25 am (UTC)1) "But you're like me. And you love each other. After ten years? So how do you make it work?" Dexter takes dating advice from the couple he's about to kill. Somes up the black humour part of the show perfectly.
2) "Take your fucking hands of me." Aka Dexter slips with Doakes and lets him see, for a moment, what he is. Directly ties with Dexter losing it, also for a moment, with Paul, in another fashion, and his priceless expression when he realises what he did.
3) And of course the final scene with Rudy/Brian, from "it's a service I don't usually offer" to Dexter huddled in the corner and crying. Devastating and yet inevitable.
