Pic spam, brought to you by that neat camera which served me well in Venice and the rest of my paid online time. One more day to go, but check out the local attractions. To wit, those mountains where dwarf kings were supposed to hoard treasures long before Tolkien was ever born. The Dolomites. And slopes with actual snow.

And this would be the Aged Parent risking life and limb to take a picture of yours truly, skiing:

Now for the over 3000 metres high mountain, the Marmolada:

This is the largest skiing area I ever visited, no kidding. Back to the Selaronda:

And thus I bid you farewell, at the end of yet another beautiful day:

Lovely, lovely mountains! Yes, these are the Misty Mountains, all right!

Make my mountains look small, humble and green, Hobbit sized mountains!

Aw, but hobbits are cute. Also, how are they green? You've been baiting me with having snow around!

Well, they're usually green. Not green right now, since it snowed AGAIN yesterday!

I am so tired of this winter. It's supposed to be spring now. This is very strange weather for the mid-Atlantic. Fortunately for me, I go on the road to the Carolinas on Saturday through Wednesday, where it is nice and balmy.

I admit that my idea of a mountain is less Byronic peaks than hobbit curves. The Appalachians are very old, worn out mountains.

You're welcome. I'm packing now, but it's going to be hard to love it behind. But! There is rp to look forward to! Be so good and send me a summary of the most important stuff tomorrow (will be back in my flat by tomorrow evening at the latest) so I know what's going on....

Okay, this I do envy you (I also envy you the skiing proficiency. Iwas awful at it as child and never kept it up.)

I love skiing. I'm really not a sportswoman, but I love skiing in the winter and swimming in the summer, and after months locked in a room, it was just what I needed. *is packing suitcases for way back now*

Gorgeous mountains. I think I once skied in the Dolomites (it was so long ago I'm not entirely sure *g*) before skiing and I decided we weren't suited to each other. That snow looks so fantastic that I almost wish I hadn't been so terrible at it!

Well, you could always visit the Dolomites in the summer and eat delicious ham and do some hiking with J., but the snow really is just visible in this splendour if you put on skis and use the lifts to get up there....
