The things you can learn via friends' friends' lists: someone had the genius to suggest that since Utopia at last gave us some dates as to the whereabouts of Jack Harkness on Earth, he could be the Immortal of AtS' The Girl in Question fame. Which makes complete sense. Because you know, Darla, Dru, concurrently? He so would.

(Incidentally, yes, I've heard the casting spoiler of Torchwood s2, but must admit it leaves me somewhat indifferent. On the other hand, I did have fun imagining how the Torchwood gang would react if they had seen Jack taking the Doctor's coat in one swift motion when the later is busy geeking out with Yana:

Ianto: *angsts somewhat jealously and silently; pointedly offers tea*

Owen: *makes sarcastic quip*

Tosh: *ignores the Jack spectacle in favour of examining Yana's awesome machine made out of food*

Gwen: *tries not to let her mind wander to places involving the possible Doctor and Jack backstory and finding said places hot*

Suzie: *has actually arranged all of this via a pact made with Mr. Saxon before dying, because she has skills*)

On another note, have some fanfic recs! To wit, Heroes fanfic. Two lovely stories set in childhood and adolescence of the Petrellis respectively, no spoilers beyond basic set up:

Imaging the Air by [livejournal.com profile] heidi8, and

Finding Jim Morrison by [livejournal.com profile] hackthis.

ETA:: Dr. Who rec: just found a terrific portrait of Martha during Human Nature/Family of Blood here!

Wow! That would work pretty well, except that I think they said that the Immortal had been around for hundreds of years.

Ah, but Jack's a conman. He clearly spread that story. Also, the minions' reactions? Would so fit.

Of course, the problem is that Darla and Dru would undoubtedly want to use Jack's ability to die and resurrect for sadomasochistic purposes, and I don't think Jack's quite that out on the edge.

Spoilsport. Besides, I must point out that Jack canonically is an expert in torture, unless you think he was bluffing and/or lying in Countrycide. If that's in his past, he could be out on the edge with Darla and Dru, too.

*glares*

You are trying to get me to watch this show, aren't you?

I still love your Immortal the best, don't worry.*g*

"This show" being Dr. Who or Torchwood, the spin-off? If the later, no, I don't; it had a very mixed first season, with ups and downs, and I'm not sure I'd have stuck it out till the end of same if it hadn't been a DW spin-off.

Dr. Who, otoh, is pretty much unique, in that it started in 1963 and after a hiatus that lasted the 90s is now up and running again, 29 seasons and counting, and it is a sublime mixture of clever and silly and scary, and very, very British. You'd probably enjoy it, yes.

...and also: S8 retcons notwithstanding, having Jack hanging out with Buffy? Would totally fit as a symptom of Rose's blonde specialness.

Ah, but Darla was the original blonde.*g* Well, not if Jack's the Immortal, as he would have met Rose first. Time-travel is headache inducing. Anyway, yeah. And now we know the true reason why Spike went platinum in the 70s....

All the pre-series Petrelli fic flying around has made me more and more anxious for a Company Man style Petrelli ep in season 2, complete with flashbacks. WANT.
