Remember my mission some weeks back, converting a friend to Farscape? Well, today she sent me her first Farscape fanfic. I feel so proud. (Dabs eyes with hankerchief.)

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] hobsonphile has finished her essay about the relationship between Londo and Vir, which is available at her lj and of course at Enemies & Allies.

Moreover, and a bit late to the party, I discovered this:

My journal says I'm 64% masculine.
What does your LJ writing style say about your gender?

As Cordelia in her early years would say, pffff. Also, huh? Reminds me of a critic telling me I write with a masculine voice, except for my landscapes.

Bravo on the conversion!

I'm planting seeds of interest on one of my favourite professional author's mailing list nowadays...

I ranted about that gender thing last month (http://www.livejournal.com/community/feminist/479061.html).

Trying to assert gender essentialism about language, of all things, is absurd.

It *is* absurd.

Tells you something about assumptions, though. (Annoying ones.)

I haven't discovered yet what the gender assumptions are based on. The test says that I'm 68% masculine, however.

as ide_cyan put it...

... you can't define gender via language anyway, but I suppose that is what that test is based on.
