I'm so not envious all of you (well, all of you in the States) can watch Angel tonight and I can't. I don't care at all. Who, me? Never. To show my utter indifference, I shall, unspoiled as I am (save for the obvious one about the return of him who was not to be named) predict the probable reactions from several corners:

- OMG! DB gained weight again! If he looses his soul, he'll be Porkelus!

- Fred looks as skinny as ever; if she gets paired up with Spike we'll hear the bones clash

- Joss is a genius

- Joss is on crack and should stick to bloody Firefly

- I miss Cordy/Connor/Lilah/Lindsey/SecondDemonfromtheRight

- Spike is ruining my showwwwwwwww!

- looks like Spike brings the snark back to Angel; hooray!

- James looks sooooo hot

- but not as hot as Alexis

- why is James looking so old? Those idiots can't light him properly!

- why isn't there more Wesley? You'll see, he'll quickly become Pod!Wesley and the show will be ruiiiiiiiined

- that's Wesley? He sure looks different from season 3 BTVS which was when I saw him last; and who's the black guy?

- this new character X is stupid; they should kill her/him off now - the show will be ruiiiiiined

- why aren't there more references to what happened in Sunnydale?

- who cares about Sunnydale - it's just pathetic how Joss can't let go and has to make this stupid references

- hey, if Spike can come back, does that mean we'll see Doyle again? Played by a Glenn Quinn lookalike?

- HoYay! UST! Scene X is soooo hot!

- they're desexualising everyone, it's just mean and pathetic - Minear, come back with the subtext!

In other news, hobsonphile consoled me, regarding the thing I'm utterly indifferent about, by creating new icons. You can keep your Wesley, and your Angel, and your Spike. My guy Quark is more fun than the lot of them combined. And Armin S. should win an Oscar and beat Alexis Denisof and James Marsters over the head with it. So there.

Have you tried buffy.nu in order to get the thing you are utterly indifferent about? They have smaller, but still watchable versions there.

OMG, those are hysterical. And so very true. I still see people complain the show hasn't been good since Doyle was killed off. Um, that was three and a half years ago, the actor is dead, obviously you are still watching in order to complain, get over it. :p

The funny thing is I was lamenting a bit last night about not posting at boards much anymore and sticking to LJ. Now, I look at your list and realize I'm not missing that much. :)

I'm all WB-deprived, too, and you don't see me complaining. Nope. Not one little bit. I'm not moping at all over the fact that ATP will be all abuzz over the new ep tonight, and I'll have precisely squat. I'm not at all upset that I won't get to see any new eps for at least a month. I'm positively giddy at the thought of being totally and thoroughly spoiled by the time I see anything at all. I'm happy!

The good thing about having to wait until January to see the new series of Angel is that by then everyone will have gone on to rant about something else. Like you I am utterly indifferent (though far more spoiled) so I'm not going to tell you that at least one of these is correct *g*.

Actually, I'm not thinking about the new Angel either for the simple reason that I haven't seen the previous three (?) seasons (or BtVS for that matter). I've been living under a rock for the past few years. *g* However, I intend to catch up on both shows as soon as I have had the chance to catch up on Farscape (which I very recently added to my Netflix rental list).

And now to add my 2 cents to the pile:

- Fred and Wes need to get together. Lilah's gone, Fred's not with Gunn....it's all good.

I think this pretty much goes with out saying. Neither of them are actually British, but at least one of them did live in England for a while...and come on...Alexis is so clearly hotter than James. lol

It's not the lighting. He is probably the oldest full cast member on the show. He's admitted his 40 or something, hasn't he? At one of the Cons over the Summer?

And the funny thing is that you cannot say, that any of these statements are wrong. You can of course, say that that a statement is wrong or correct, but judgment will be subjective and not a fundamental scientific fact. But then again science-based laws is not the Truth, they are also subject to change or discard, as our knowledge expand. And even if we got the grand unified theory, will we never arrive to one absolute truth, because as german? matheticain did prove, that we can never construct proof of the basic truth in mathematic.
But I will be positive surprised, if Spike does not ruin the show ;),

As for ruining the show: I'm a strange person in fandom. I absolutely loved the later seasons of BTVS, and yet Spike isn't my favourite character; I mean, I like him, but there are several others - Buffy, Dawn, Anya in Sunnydale, Darla and Connor and Wesley in Los Angeles - I like more. Which is why all the hysteria (both the positive and the negative one) is slightly bemusing to me. And no, I don't believe he'll "ruin" anything - anymore than Wesley did when he arrived, or Darla, or Gunn, or Fred, or (grown-up) Connor.

Seven seasons BTVS, four seasons AtS, actually...
