I got some nice feedback for my two remix stories, though alas nothing from either of the two recipients so far, which is starting to make me a bit worried. Ah, well. It's always a gamble. Incidentally, if someone can guess which ones I wrote, there might be a ficlet (can't promise anything due to rl business, but I'll try) in the fandom of your choice.

With a Shakespeare anniversary around, I've seen people link to clips of some of the great performances, which strikes me as a good idea, so here are two excerpts:

1) Ian McKellen as MacBeth, Judi Dench as Lady MacBeth. See, with this one exception, I've always found it to be true in every single production of the Scottish play I've watched either on stage or screen - either Macbeth or Lady M aren't as strong as the other, in terms of acting, I mean. (The power balance between the characters shifts through the play.) But here, in this production, you have two superb actors at the same time, and my, are they awesome in this scene. (The one where Macbeth has doubts and Lady Macbeth persuades him to go ahead and do it anyway.)

2) Ian McKellen as Lear, Sylvester McCoy as the Fool, from King Lear. I so wish I could have been able to watch that production from last year. At least here I get an excerpt. I swear I'd love it even if it weren't for the Magneto and the Seventh Doctor factor. Lear has just left his older daughter and got an unpleasant clue as to how his children really feel about him.

Lastly, a link from [livejournal.com profile] mimesh. After winning at the BAFTAs for Heroes, there was a press conference, in which Tim Kring defends s2 (in an unspoilery way, British watchers, so you don't have to fear seeing it); also, Adrian Pasdar and Milo Ventimiglia share how sexy they find each other. (If you want more BAFTA material, [livejournal.com profile] 12_12_12 has a picspam here. I will never stop being amused about that kind of fanservice, folks. Keep doing it.

I've read that it's either been filmed or will be filmed, so we shall all get to see it eventually. I can't wait!

You're welcome! :D

Apparently it's going to air internationally in the fall/winter (according to this article (http://www.theatermania.com/content/news.cfm/story/12573)) and there will also be a DVD.

Wow, the remixes are up? I've certainly be living under a rock recently.

Adrian Pasdar and Milo Ventimiglia share how sexy they find each other.

Still, nothing will ever beat Adrian saying that Milo was an Adonis who needed to be stripped and chained up. >:D

At [livejournal.com profile] remixredux08. A couple of entries back I recced my favourites so far.

Still, nothing will ever beat Adrian saying that Milo was an Adonis who needed to be stripped and chained up.

Not even Milo saying "...and we get THIS close and are touching all the time, so, yeah..."?

Oh, thanks for the link!

Not even Milo saying "...and we get THIS close and are touching all the time, so, yeah..."?

Needs more nudity to win. Which, obviously, ought to be their goal!

I did see that production with Ian McKellen and Sylvester McCoy. As far as theatrical interpretations of King Lear go, it was rather conservative, but Lear and the Fool were indeed excellent.

Colour me envious. Ah well, I've been promised a tv version by Angevin in the above comment...
