Lifejournal friendship is when you make your friends write something for you. As the Iron Man movie appears to be a success, I pointed out to likeadeuce an introduction post covering the essentials for people who never read a single comic but got interested in Tony Stark after watching the film might be a service to the general public. She agreed and wrote the Newbie's Guide To Iron Man. Check it out!

rozk, meanwhile, noticed a really cool musical detail in the film. I usually need to watch something three times before I pick up something like this, if at all, so I'm awed.

Heroes fanfic rec:

Shuffle is a great look at the entire ensemble via a series of drabbles. I'm an addict for well done Heroes gen, and always hyper when I find it.

Isn't that a good album, though? I certainly would not have guessed it except from context and I did not know until I checked the credits. And, as I said, I didn't mentally formalize the guess - I just knew there was something to notice.

I feel the same way. I'm always disappointed when I do ninth_wonders and find myself mostly coding links to slash fics.

You know, one of the reasons why I'll always defend s2 is that basically every episode inspired me to write fanfic, and no, not in a "fix the lame canon" manner, but in a "ohhhh, this is interesting, want to explore more!" manner. Hopefully s3 will do the same, and if so, I promise come September there will be more gen again.

...but it's so nice to read other people's stuff.
