On my way to the airport and in haste: soon, Battlestar Galactica will start again, and if you're in the mood, you have to check out this absolutely hysterical vid capturing the last four years using Billy Joel as a soundtrack: We didn't start the fire.

This one bears repeated rewatching, because every time you discover a new match of lyric and image, all of which are funny, wicked and with much affection for the source. My favourite is probably Richard Nixon! Laura Roslin (comes complete with JFK!Gaius Baltar and Marilyn Monroe!Six), but Catcher in the Rye!Lee Adama isn't half bad, either. If you're a fan, you have to check this out.

My fave is Starbuck as James Dean, and the Laura-Roslin Elvis moment. (HEE). Plus wow, all the war leaders mentioned (Stalin, Ho Chi Minh, Eisenhower) and the visuals are just *stunning* .

...and I just rewatched and discovered Castro = Tom Zarek. But of course!

Heh, i'm only 3/4th through the first season (with a few out-of-order-watched eps in the 2nd) and I still loved it. Roslin = Nixon has to be the best, but I also liked Catcher in the Rye Lee and Joe DiMaggio Kara.

Roslin = Nixon is even more awesome once you've watched stuff that happens between her and Baltar in late s2 and mid s4 respectively, and yes, the other two gave me a wide grin as well. Now I'll always imagine Lee ranting about the phonies.:)

Let's just exchange recs, shall we? :)

Aww that's like the best of everything I could hope to shine through. Thanks!

And I'm so glad you appreciate the completeness that is the Roslin/Nixon Baltar/JFK parallel. Yay! (And Zarek is soooooo Castro :D).

He. When you used the debate footage, I thought "wait, that's brilliant!" and then later when you matched Hub events to "JFK, blown away!" I did the most silly thing between grinning and chortling in admiration. Zarek/Castro hit me only the second time of watching, and then I was all agog about how I could have missed it.

In conclusion: I loved that vid, and will happily exchange more reviews.*g*
