Had to flee to kidnapped laptop in order to finish my LotR DVD watching, as Aged Parents put their collective foot down even before the fellowship arrived in Lothlorien.
Which meant I watched the rest staring longingly on the tiny laptop screen, but hey. Anything for a true addict. Gollum would understand. So would Frodo, or Bilbo.
However, I feel signs of recovery from a one-track-mind by being delighted about new stories in the Farscape and Star Trek fandoms. The one and only
alara_r wrote this jewel here, going for the angst in the "war in the Q continuum" scenario which we should have gotten in canon:

Date: 2003-12-21 03:13 pm (UTC)I had to endure the parental lecture on the complete lack of value of fantasy today, and how, of course, Gone With the Wind was bound to be an immeasurably better film than anything connected with LOTR. I wasn't sure what that had to do with anything, but niece R just looked at Aged Ps witheringly and said "It's a completely different genre." That was quite effective in shutting them up *g*.
your niece R rocks *g*
