Gems from various ficathons, one old, two new, which only came to my attention now:
Chavelle's Primrose Mystery: in which Ellen Tigh and Helena Cain, of all the people, have to investigate a murder together. This unlikely premise is pulled off with style, and a magnificent Ellen voice. Set mid-s2, for obvious reasons.
Four things that didn't surprise Sam about being a Cylon, and one thing that did: great Sam Anders character exploration. Sam is one of those characters that snuck up on me when I didn't expect them to. I had no reaction, either good or bad, to his first appearance in s2; by the time the show ended, I was really fond of him and wept buckets over his fate. One reason of several why I enjoyed The Plan immensely is the way it explores him more. I'm all for fanfiction doing that as well.
The Deposition: in which Felix Gaeta has a chat with Romo Lampkin before Baltar's trial. Poor Felix. Excellent exploration of his issues.
