I can't hear the music: a fantastic Kai Winn character exploration. deborah_judge, you must watch this. Everyone else should, too. Sometimes I joke that Winn Adami, played by Louise Fletcher, is Laura Roslin written as a villain, and I'm actually mostly serious about this.

Doctor Who:

Run with me: River Song, being awesome and handling her timey-wimey relationship with aplomp.

Multifandom:

A vindication of the rights of women: fallingtowers just recced this, and I'm glad and must repeat it - the vidder took a lot of Age of Sails tv shows and movies, Joan Jett and Mary Wollstonecraft and created something that will have you cheer along. Hooray!

Agree completely about Winn and Roslin, so far, and I'd also add Delenn.

Delenn is another parallel & contrast, but with Roslin and Winn I always wonder whether it's deliberate because of Ron Moore really having written and being involved in writing both women, which obviously he wasn't with Delenn.

Right. Was Moore still involved in the final season of DS9?

Absolutely. He'd been promoted to co-executive producer of DS9 in the fifth season and all in all wrote over thirty episodes, including half of the final arc. His season 7 episodes were: "Take Me Out to the Holosuite", "Once More Unto the Breach", "It's Only a Paper Moon", "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges", "Strange Bedfellows" (this is particularly Winn-relevant - that was the one where she started her relationship with Dukat,"Tacking Into the Wind" and "The Dogs of War". He also has a cameo in the final episode (as do the other main scriptwriters - they're extras in Vic's lounge).
