If you're wondering where my weekly Dexter review is, I haven't had the chance to watch the episode yet - Darth Real Life again, though I hope to rectify this in a few hours. Also tomorrow is the opening ceremony of the Frankfurt Book Fair, and as every year, that means yours truly will be in Frankfurt for the rest of the week, enjoying the biggest collection of new publications anywhere in the world.

However! I just found out that I have a thread in the current love meme. Which is absolutely darling and makes me glow in the middle of Darth Real Life doom, you guys. So whoever created it and wrote those comments, THANK YOU.

Thank you! I'll probably post some observations when I find the time, plus I've already written the big post for Saturday. Which reminds me, another nice article for you.

(re: the article, it's a relief that Julian and Yoko have made peace because that relationship made the one between Yoko and the other Beatles in 1969 look loving and warm hearted. Classic step mother problem. Julian and Sean, on the other hand, always seem to have had a good relationship which is a bit of a miracle, considering this versus that, which you'd think would have produced a Cain and Abel scenario, but no. John would be very proud of both of them!)

I agree with you that it's a bit of a miracle that Sean and Julian get along so well and seem to have a great respect and love for each other,and that is something certainly their father would have rejoiced about- Julian had many reasons to dislike his brother but it look like he is a sensible man.He also looked like he learned to make a distinction between John the artist and John the father.

I have some scattered thoughts ,perhaps I will ramble in French about what John Lennon meant to me when he suddenly appeared in my life ,twenty six years ago.

Well, I knew I wouldn't have time to write it this week because of the book fair, so I wrote it during the weekend. Or rather wrote, copy-pasted and linked, because I thought: there'll be dozens of articles about the music, the activism and the entire life, and overall evaluations, so instead, I'll describe one particular birthday of his in detail. Just one. There's a reason for the birthday I picked. I'll let you guess which one. :)

Meanwhile, remember how John insisted in interviews that Sean didn't know any Beatles songs and that he, John, kept all the Beatles past away from the kid? Lennon, you fibber. Behold this this absolutely adorable recording of Sean singing "With a little help from my friends" and John nostalgically reminiscing about who sings what on that song and being proud.
