Apr. 12th, 2004 11:37 amI so want to do the "ten most influentual books" meme which is making the rounds at the moment, but can't, due to limited net access. Yet another thing which shall have to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday. BTW, Wednesday is when we get new Angel episodes, right?
And yet more in the "must do" list:
skywaterblue demands intelligent essays on meta topics for
ds9agogo. Would love to write about the whole terrorism thing and prove that I love my two space stations almost equally, but WHEN?
Also, just a little
theatrical_muse observation:
crais' most recent entry continues to crack me up. Now THAT's a loyal employee. Not like that Crichton fellow who listens to prejudiced Narns.

Date: 2004-04-12 02:55 am (UTC)Ay! Damn it, now I want to talk about how Dukat and Sisko are both "of Bajor," exercise all my Dukat-apologist muscles, address spirituality and religion, prove that I also love my two space stations almost equally and arrrgghh. WHEN?
And see, here's what happens. We both say this, you and me. You travel halfway around the world and ten to one, you get this meta-essay posted before you return.
Me? Well. *laughing* I blame it on my car. But at least, in the spirit of competition, I have some incentive for adding this project to my To Do list.
AFTER the ficathon fic and the Galaxy Gab article and the other ficathon fic.
You are a terrible influence, lady. A wonderful, terrible influence.

Says she who is almost single-handedly responsible for me writing more of Londo's journal than of mine. I don't feel guilty in the slightest. You seduced me first.

Date: 2004-04-13 06:05 am (UTC)2.) Seriously, I'm somewhat between Sabine and you on the entire Dukat subject, but my rebellious nature makes me edge a little closer to her each time I hear a dogma pronounced. (I still intend to blame you if I ever write a Bashir torture fic.) Also, it would be fun to read that essay of hers.
3.) If nostalgia shreds Sabine, though, I would feel honour-bound to come to her aid (Sabine's, that is), since she made me her willing slave by writing a great G'Kar over at
4.) Not that S. couldn't shred back on her own.
5.) If nostalgia shreds me for the terrorism essay, which I just posted, the world shall never see my next essay, to be entitled "Quark: The Trickster in his DS9 Incarnation". Hmpf.

Date: 2004-04-13 11:34 am (UTC)2.) It's dogma for the same reason people smack the shit out of n00bs who don't punctuate their fic properly: because 99.9 percent of people are not the next fucking Ginsburg. If the GoGo's policy causes a new writer to write her first fic as a cute first kiss story of pairing of her choice, rather than try to write a fourteen part multi-epic in which Bashir is raped by gypsies, well, I consider that having done the world a favour.
And I'm sure you'll end up writing it just to give me a hernia. But it's so your fault if a n00b or even some middle lister starts going towards the path of bad.
3.) Well, alliances are where alliances are.
4.) That would be fun.
5.) Nifty keen. I haven't read it yet, but I want to read the Quark one already, so I think I shall probably engage in thoughtful debate over any disagreeing subject matter.
