Jewish settlers or Palestinians? Draw your parallel of choice. One unintended by the writers, I guess, but in a world more alert to the ever increasing violence following ever increasing rethoric, it could be drawn.

You know I'm not sure the parallel wasn't unintended by the writers. They can't surely have been unaware that the parallel could be drawn. The Maquis storyline always felt so nebulous to me that I wonder if they intended to go a little further with it and then decided it was too risky.

Could be, but then again, I once wrote a novel a long text and had it later pointed out to me that it had plot parallels to a Wagner opera I had not thought about at all while writing it.
