Thirty Days of Borgias: Day Two

selenakDay 02 ~ Favourite female character.
One of the many reasons why I love this show as I do is that there is actually more than one to choose from, and they're all interesting and layered. And have relationships with each other as well to various (also interesting) men! Anyway: in season 1 my second favourite was Giulia Farnese and in season 2 it was Vannozza (this having to do with the fact that the former gets more screentime and development in s1 and the later in s2), but my first my first favourite was and remains Lucrezia Borgia. Who starts out as a witty but still somewhat naive (due to her age) girl, grows up through bitter experience without getting self loathing about it, is quite capable of manipulation, using people and the occasional lethal hate but also of friendship, loyalty, protectiveness and intimidating the hell out of Cardinals if (this, btw, the show did not make up despite the liberties it takes elsewhere) her father the Pope leaves her in temporary charge of church administration. In short, I love her. A lot.
