selenakIn which Clyde the tortoise returns, and also we meet this show's version of an ACD character.
This show continues to be my happy place, with its fondness and respect for people in general, not just the leads and/or regulars. Both one shot characters - though I would be happy to see Pam return! - and recurring, which I assume Miss Hudson is. So we've finally met Elementary's version of Mrs. Hudson, and I love what they did with her. The reference to her being trans is blink and you'll miss it, but it's there, and the actress looks plausible (I have no idea whether she herself is trans). Meanwhile, we see her having a friendly relationship with Holmes and building one with Watson, and that she is their age rather than at a parental age gap and ends up dropping by once a week for house cleaning rather than live with them as part of getting on her own feet and living on her own terms makes for a neat updating of (Ms) Hudson's role in the Elementaryverse.
Good to see Clyde again - btw, I am informed bylonelywalker that he has his own twitter and chooses to be Clyde Watson, because he did hear those soup jokes way back when, you know - and everyone, Holmes, Watson, the cops, Pam - working together to solve the convoluted big robbery while a snow storm hits New York - was just very enjoyable to watch. Mind you, I'm not clear on how even later knifing can disguise a gun wound as a knife wound - what about the bullet, for starters? or the residue, if Elle's confederates managed to get it out before delivering her to the hospital? - but when the character stuff makes me happy, which it usually does on this show, I'm happy to handwave.
Trivia: Miss Hudson mentions Holmes' monograph on bees. Speaking of bees, I should hope those on the roof during better times are currently snugly wintering elsewhere rather than perishing in the snow blizzard.
