While trying not to melt in our current heatwave, I tried to match up places and (fictional) people. Cities, landscapes, places which seemed, to me, to have a connection to the character in question. Here are some of the results:

Darla: Rome. Definitely. As opposed to Holtz, I wasn't surprised she wanted to go there. It's a Darla kind of place - not just once cities, many cities, and a sensual, cruel and witty core. I could see her taking part in the Roman carneval. Or turning up in a Fellini movie, dressed in white, of course.

Buffy: The desert, but not just any desert. The Californian one, or to be more precise, Death Valley, just outside the oasis in the middle, in the early morning when the heat is still bearable. Really, between "Restless", "Intervention" and "Get it Done", it can't be anything else.

Giles: London, and not because he's English. The London of the 70s which I have never seen, so Il put Giles in the scenery of Neil Jordan's "Mona Lisa". Glittering asphalt and hidden bitterness and fragments of old things. Speaking of Giles, Mariner has just started to post a story featuring him, Ethan and the fight against Voldemort in what promises to be a great HP/BTVS crossover here.

Willow: Berlin, strangely enough. City of ambigious sexuality, great energy, and plenty of scars from the past. The bright glitter of intellect and the proverbial not so old blood in the streets, and I don't mean just the 33-45 past. And, what many peple forget, a city interwoven with a river (which does belong to Willow).

Drusilla: New Orleans. Or any place in Louisiana with its ghosts and humidity and family madness completely going along with joie de vivre and cheer. Louisiana in the night, and jazz sounds mixed with the occasional cembalo.

Connor: The backlot of Universal, or Paramount, at night, when all the visitors have gone away. A faked dream banned on celluloid, real to everyone else but him. I can see Connor wandering through the facades of places that never were, trying to figure out what it all means.

So what was up with that diary, anyway? How did
Harry know what he was supposed to write in it?
He never spilled any ink on it. Is Potter
supposed to be omniscient or something?

What About The Harry Potter Movies Annoys You Most?

By all means.

Which Tom Riddle ship are you?

I'm starting to sense a theme here as far as Potterdom is concerned.

Truth
You bear the honor of being Galadriel's Mirror. You
show things that are, things that were, and
some things that have not yet come to pass.
Your are open and honest and people know they
can get nothing but the truth from you. You
hide nothing, and have a tendency to freak
people out with how aware you are of
them....not to mention, that giant flaming red
eye you've been known to show people--gotta cut
that out!

What element of LOTR are you?? (repaired)

Which is flattering enough. On the other hand...

LaCroix
LaCroix

The "evil" mastermind of the Forever
Knight Universe. Boy, you must really hate
people, don't you? Well, don't worry, I won't
tell (because I'm scared of you)

What Forever Knight character are you?

and Buffy in Death Valley as you've suggested, but also in those sun-drenched, marriage of sand and water towns, wearing turquoise jewelry and lying in a hammock with Dawn, watching the sun come up.

Where you've put Connor is so so right. Boulevard of lost children....

I love the image of Buffy and Dawn waiting among the dunes for the sun to rise. And oh yes, Willow would fit great into Weimar Republic Germany.
