Always came too soon
Feb. 23rd, 2011 06:38 amI don't usually cry when finding out actors died, no matter how much I liked parts they played, especially when they managed to reach a good old age and as far as I know lived in peace with their family. But this morning, waking up and finding out that Nicholas Courtney has died, I couldn't help myself.
He was the Brig.
If you're not in Doctor Who fandom, or even if you are but only know the New Who seasons, this means little. But if you've watched this man who probably knows more of the Doctor than any other human character through his many, many appearances in show and additional media like the audios, it means everything. I don't feel capable of writing an essay on Alastair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, aka the Brigadier right now. But I found this lovely tribute to both Nicholas Courtney and the Brig on YouTube:
