And a look at Agent Carter which makes me hunt for Peggy and Howard Stark friendship tales (hooray for m & f comradery of people who've been through hell together but still won't end up as a couple), only Darth RL is after me again. Also: I'm mysteriously thrilled human!Jarvis (whom Tony presumably modelled the AI on) is married. (In the comics, Jarvis had a lovely autumnal affair with Peter Parker's Aunt May for a while, only then Civil War happened, and then Brand New Day happened and Jarvis got retconned to have been a Skrull, so...) Because dammit, why not? There are enough Butlers devoting their entire lives to their employers' bratty offsprings and their angst. Good for MCU human Jarvis on having a partner of his own.

I can't help but think Jarvis must be a pretty terrible butler if he knocks off work at 7 and goes to bed at 9.

Well, he may be teasing Peggy, but then again: that's a long working day already, compared with the classic 9-5 in other jobs. :)

I tend to think of butlers being around at dinners in the evening, although perhaps Howard just doesn't do that sort of thing. It would be lovely if Jarvis was in fact being dryly humourous, although that might suggest the wife is fictional too.

I really loved May Memory Restore by nimmieamee, about Peggy, Howard and Alexander Pierce - thought it was a brilliant look at these characters, as well as the genesis and growth of SHIELD over time.

Oh, thank you so much for the link! Loved the layers in the stories (or story in different chapters) - and Peggy as strong, but not perfect, she does look the other way on occasion and fataly so, and that strikes me as very realistc.
