So I was writing about my [livejournal.com profile] sabine101 missage to Andraste yesterday, and lo and behold, today my dearest Narn posts. Yay! Especially since tomorrow will see me reach the dreaded age of 35 and probably not being able to get online much at all.

Speaking of Andraste, she wrote this great Crais/Aeryn vignette. Which finds a way of bringing these two together which should satisfy the John/Aeryn crowd as well, so [livejournal.com profile] hobsonphile, look it up!

I've been doing some Farscape research for my Rygelthon assignment. Combined with the Star Wars rewatching, this has given me the odd idea that Xhalax Sun is a female version of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. If the miniseries reveals that Crais was actually Aeryn's twin brother, remember you read it here first.

From Farscape to Babylon 5: [livejournal.com profile] deborah_judge wrote an encounter between Londo and a certain Minbari for me which I love. Ah, shared issues and very different ways of dealing!

Meanwhile, [livejournal.com profile] celestial_templ's latest challenge was to write something around a bad joke or bad pun. Punning in English, which isn't my native language, isn't exactly my forte. However, I did come up with something honouring the spirit of the challenge. I hope.

"Those Billy Wilder Blues"

OK, I'm not even sure what show this is about (DS9?), but it's hilarious. Rock on -- and happy early birthday!
From: [identity profile] selenak.livejournal.com
Yes, DS9. It's set in an episode which is basically the Ferengi version of Some Like it Hot, crossed with Tootsie. I.e. Quark for various plot-related reasons has to pretend to be a woman, and ends up being romanced by a millionaire, his arch-nemesis Brunt tries to expose him (again, plot related reasons), Quark reacts by giving Trek its first m/m on screen kiss. I just took it from there.*g*

sadly, my DS9 knowledge goes about as far as "Avery Brooks sometimes does local theater in DC" and "I think that Bashir is pretty hot" (in response to which [livejournal.com profile] elcazavampiros glared at me and said, "Oh, you would!").

But I love me some Billy Wilder.
From: [identity profile] selenak.livejournal.com
Oh, me too. Especially Sunset Boulevard, which I wrote a post about (last year, I think) raving about this epitome of the "Hollywood on Hollywood" genre.

Bashir is, but the main attraction of DS9 is that it is the best and darkest of the Trek shows.

I definitely like what I've seen of DS9 best of all the shows. One of those things I haven't seen enough of. And I haven't seen any B5 or Farscape *hangs head*. I wasn't plugged into the right places to know about these things when they were on!

Well, you could do what [livejournal.com profile] andrastewhite did - rent these shows on Video/DVD and watch them this way. Or, like Rob, rent them via netflix. It's less expensive for you than buying them, and you don't have to put up with strange broadcasts and advertisment....

I was going to post this tomorrow but if you won't be online much I'll do it today. Photobucket is behaving like a drunken slug at the moment so I hope this shows up. A little birthday gift/card...

Quax

It can be altered if you'd prefer different text. Happy Birthday, and 35's not so bad *g*. Off to read the story now.

It showed up in my notification but not at the web! Anyway, beautiful, and no, the text can stay. Thank you - this is very sweet.

Thanks for the plug! Have a great birthday! Are you going to throw an online party? I hope so.

The throwing of an online party all depends on when the 'rents leave - I certainly can't while we're together celebrating. So perhaps tonight, my time, or, because my father is quite capable of having a surprise involving travelling, not.

You're welcome, and my thanks as well!
